The mission of Flights of Faith

Phase One:

Flights of Faith was created to give missionaries and ministry teams the ability to raise money for missions and ministry trips to relieve the burden of having to send out tons of letters with nothing to offer but the promise to do a good job.  These days it seems as though everyone is asking for money and donation letters just get thrown into the same round filing cabinet as all the others. Phase one of Flights of Faith is an affiliate program solely for approved missionaries, ministers, missions organizations, and ministries to provide a way for those who are going out to be the hands and feet of Christ to secure either a one time or ongoing income depending on the need by the individual or organization.  The individual or organization applies for “membership” at next to no cost (the state requires we charge something) and once approved you will receive a personal code that can be used on social media, print media, or any way you would like to drive sales of coffee to Flights of Faith through your code.  The software catalogs it for you and you receive your portion.

Phase one is launched and operational right now!  The proceeds that Flights of Faith receives from the sales will go to Phase 1B:

  • Phase 1b Part 1: includes funding a Flight Fund for general and emergency use that we hold.  These funds are available for any emergencies that may arise for our members or those they know.  It is ready at a moment’s notice!  As we all know, the mission field is not always a friendly place and sometimes an emergency exfil for a missionary and their family is of the utmost importance.  That can be exceptionally expensive, especially last minute but our goal is to make that a complete non-worry as we will have the funds and connections at the ready to make it happen immediately if need be!  All the people on the ground will have to do is get to the airport!
  • The next part of Phase 1B is building a network of pilots, ministry organizations, and companies that have aircraft and are looking for reasons to fly! This network will serve to connect ministry workers and pilots that are willing and able to transport our “members” at no cost to the member, in return the pilot/company that owns the aircraft will receive credit for a non-taxable donation from us for their generosity and service.  If you know pilots at all, they will look for any excuse to fly and if they can also get a tax benefit in the process they will jump at the chance!  The hundred dollar hamburger which is closer to a five hundred dollar hamburger can now serve The Kingdom of God.  Also, many large flight departments have empty legs where they are ferrying an empty airplane to another destination to pick up the scheduled passengers.  We are merely asking that our people can grab a seat on what would otherwise have been an empty airplane and in return the flight department gets a write-off that then decreases their cost per flight hour since they had to go up anyhow to accomplish the scheduled mission.  I don’t want to sound like I am over simplifying it but it is really that simple.  We are building an app that will allow members, the passenger kind to connect with the aircraft kind, seamlessly.  All aircraft and pilots will be vetted for obvious safety reasons so that the risks are no more than flying any other airline or charter.
  • Phase 1b Part 2: is the purchase and operation of a commercial grade flight simulator that will be used for missionary and ministry pilots to gain experience and training for new missions or recurrent training.  Studies have shown that simulator training can train a pilot nearly as well as actually being in the aircraft at a fraction of the cost.  That way when the pilot steps into the real cockpit they are already substantially safer and ahead of the curve.  We will also rent time on the simulator to the community so that other pilots can get further training in a safe and more cost effective environment while adding funds to the F.O.F. accounts that will be put towards the purchase of our first aircraft in the fleet, a Cessna 182 Skylane for beginner to instrument rating.  This aircraft will be used to train pilots in the real world as well as transport missionaries and ministry workers.
  • Phase 1B will then lead to Phase Two.
  • Phase 2: will consist of two parts as well.  We will be building an actual flight school that focuses on missionary pilot training with instructors from the field that have the necessary experience to produce the best field pilots for whatever mission God is calling them to.  We will continue to build our simulator facility thus providing more training and funding to the overall mission.
  • Phase 2b: is to acquire a Cessna 421C or similar to facilitate the multi-engine rating portion of flight training as well as transport missionary and ministry workers within its range and mission capabilities.
  • Phase 3: includes growing the fleet to include a Cirrus vision jet for turbine training and missions as well as ever larger and varied aircraft for international transport of people and goods to literally anywhere on the planet that The Kingdom is needed and the hand of God directs and to do it in a manner befitting of The King!

I hope that I have adequately shared our vision with you so that you can truly understand our heart for spreading the gospel and making it possible for those who are called abroad or even to the next town over.
